How Do I Know if I’m Pregnant?
Usually, the first sign of pregnancy is a missed period. However, other health issues can change your monthly menstrual cycle. Hormonal changes, increased athletic activity, stress, and rapid weight gain or loss can all affect your period.
Are you experiencing any of these other pregnancy symptoms?
Early Pregnancy Symptoms
A woman’s pregnancy is unique, just like her. Some women experience every pregnancy symptom immediately, while others may not feel any for weeks or months. Here are the most common early symptoms:
- A missed period
- Nausea with or without vomiting
- Tender or swollen breasts
- Needing to urinate more frequently
- Feeling tired
- Moodiness
When Should I Take a Pregnancy Test?
Most at-home tests are reliable, but different brands have various sensitivity levels. Some pregnancy tests are effective as early as ten days after conception. Other tests require you to wait until after your missed period.
It is highly recommended that you take more than one test to get accurate results. Only a physician or other appropriate healthcare professional can confirm your pregnancy.
The timing of the test is also important. Take a pregnancy test in the morning when your urine is the most concentrated.
Free and Confidential Pregnancy Testing
We offer free pregnancy testing at both Options Pregnancy Clinic locations. Our tests are medical-quality, highly sensitive, and provide immediate results.
The Test Is Positive. Now What?
If your Options Pregnancy Clinic test is positive, we may recommend you for a free onsite ultrasound exam. A pregnancy test only indicates the possibility of pregnancy. An ultrasound confirms if your pregnancy is viable (developing) or if you have miscarried.
Learn more about the importance of an ultrasound exam here. Once you have confirmed your pregnancy with ultrasound, we can discuss your situation and your options, including abortion.
